Erin Johnson earned a B.S. in Biology and Sports Medicine from Shepherd University. She was a four year Shepherd University Varsity cheerleader and captain her last two years. She was also the catcher for Shepherd’s softball team. Before college, she cheered for football and basketball and was the captain of the competition cheer squad at Chantilly HS in Virginia. She was also captain of the Varsity gymnastics team and the State Champion softball team. Erin has coached cheerleading, tumbling, and gymnastics for 24 years. She is a certified judge of high school and all-star cheerleading. Erin currently serves on the USASF Field Staff, the USASF Regional Advisory Board, the Cheer Coach & Advisor magazine's Coach's Panel, and on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Directors. She is ARC CPR, ARC First Aid, and USAG Safety Certified. She is also USASF Levels 1-6 Credentialed in all areas.
Max grew up in San Antonio, TX where he began cheering in High School. He has more than 20 years of experience as both an athlete and coach. Max cheered at The University of Texas at San Antonio for 2 years. He also cheered for the San Antonio Spurs as a member on the Coyote Crew. Max relocated to the Houston area in 2007 and has worked as an all-star coach and tumbling instructor for both Legacy Allstars and later Woodlands Elite. He has coached all-star levels 1-5 and tumbling classes beginner through extreme skills. Max has extensive experience at the Collegiate level, and has trained numerous athletes as they prepare for college cheerleading. He has a degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, where he also cheered from 2011-2014. He was a member of the Division I Co-Ed team that brought home the first ever NCA Collegiate National Championship title in 2012. Eat ‘Em Up Kats! Max enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Keri, and their 3 daughters Harper, Piper, and Sawyer. He loves the outdoors, and when he’s not in the gym he can usually be found behind the grill.
Adam Jaggers started cheering in 1992 at his mother’s gym in Houston, TX & 20 years later was honored with Cheer Biz Magazines “Top 35 Under 35” award! He has over 10 years experience coaching cheer while winning National Titles with top programs throughout Texas! As an athlete, Adam was able to compete with one of the best teams in the Nation (Cheer Athletics Wildcats) in 2008! Now, Adam is an industry entrepreneur with his company “CheerLive” which streams cheerleading competitions and hosts videos on demand for cheer fans worldwide! In his free time Adam enjoys DJing & watching any Houston sporting event! Adam is CPR, First Aid & USASF Levels 1-6 Credentialed
Lazaro Martinez has been coaching in the cheer industry for a toatl of 15 years. Within those years, he had the honor of owning his own cheer gym, Incredible Cheer. Lazaro specializes in High Schcool cheer teams where he has lead more than 10 teams to win Nationals. In the beginning, Lazaro was introduce to the cheer world after on of his friends introduced him to an All Star cheer gym his high school year. From there, he became a NCA Champion and won the Challenge Cup with the TCCA Competition Cheer Team. After high school, he worked for the San Antonio Spurs and Circus Ole. Outside of cheerleading, Laz competes in wrestling and competitive skate boarding where he has won multiple championships. In his spare time, he focuses on his family of two children and his wife, Erika. Lazaro is USASF credentialed, First Aid and CPR Certified.
Erika Martinez is a veteran cheer coach for 11 years now. As a coach, she has experience ins both tumbling and All-Star Cheerleading. She even Co-owned her own gym, Incredible Cheer All-Stars where she handled and managed the company as well as coached and brought forth multiple National titles the three years it was established. Erika is considered a late bloomer to being exposed to the cheerleading world. She first started cheering in high school where she served as a Varsity cheerleader but did not experience the All-star world until she met her husband, Lazaro Martinez, at 19 years old. During her time off, Erika enjoys spending time with her two children who both adore tumbling so much that they continuously flip around their own home. Therefore, here life as a coach never stops due to her own active tumbling children. In her limited free time, Erika likes to spend time camping in the woods with her family. Erika is also CPR/ First aid and USASF certified.
Mallori Bailey was born and raised in Houston. She is currently studying Child Development and Special Education at Lonestar College. She has worked with kids for several years as a babysitter and nanny. She also teaches Sunday school at her church for the 4-5 year olds. She enjoys working with the Awana Cubbies group as well. In middle school and high school she was on the softball team. Mallori is First Aid and CPR certified.
Raven Lupone is a graduate of Lone Star College with a A.A. in Fine Arts-Dance, and Kinesiology. Raven has competed in all-star cheerleading her entire life. She is a USASF World Champion when she cheered at Cheer Athletics! While competing, her team won 34 National Championship Titles. She was also a champion competitive Power Tumbler. She is ARC CPR and ARC First Aid certified and USASF Credentialed Levels 1-5 in all areas. She currently serves on the USASF Field Staff. She is the proud mom of two girls, Rylie and Ryan.
Logan Kruemcke currently attends the University of Houston and was a part of their first national’s competition team in over 10 years in 2015. He will graduate from the University of Houston with a Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Prior to the University of Houston, he attended Blinn College and participated on their national’s team. Logan has been a cheerleader for the last 20 years and tumbled for 22 years. Tumbling is his passion and he has studied under many incredible coaches to help him create a better understanding and knowledge of the sport. Logan also has 7 years of martial arts experience, which has helped him earn discipline and a strong foundation. This discipline has helped him train in "tricking" which is a collaboration of martial arts and gymnastics skills. He hopes to one day pursue a masters in physics to further his understanding of tumbling and tricking. Logan is First Aid and CPR certified.
Julie has been tumbling for 12 years, and cheered competitively for 6 years. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio her first year of college, and then transferred to Blinn Junior College to continue her cheer career there. She won NCA College Nationals in 2017 with Blinn. Before Julie was involved in cheer she was a competitive gymnast until she was 13. Julie plans to pursue the coaching side of cheerleading now that she has retired from cheering in college. In the future, she would like to work within the NCA company helping plan competitions and other events. Right now, she is excited to have landed at Spring Creek Athletics and can’t wait be a part of the family!
Brittani Bumpas is coaching Tumbling and Cheer. She graduated from SHSU with a Bachelor of Arts in Family & Consumer Science before moving to Orlando to pursue a dream of working for Disney! There, she worked as a children’s recreation cast member. Brittani has coached cheer and tumbling for 12 years at the same gym, prior to that gym closing. She truly has a passion for children and is so excited to become a party of the SCA Family.
Michele Welsh- is joining the SCA staff on April 18. She is a graduate from Texas State University with a BS in Health and Fitness Management, Minor in Business Administration. She is a former competitive gymnast who found her love for cheer in high school and continued cheering in college. She has been coaching cheerleading, gymnastics, and tumbling for 8 years. She has a true passion for the younger kids and our special needs athletes and cannot wait to get started here at SCA!
William Fugate was born and raised here in Houston, Texas; Coach William is currently enrolled at Sam Houston State University as a student and as a cheerleader. Coach William has been a cheerleader for over 13 years and also has 5 years of gymnastics where he received coaching from our very own Coach Brenden and Coach Logan. He has been coaching for about 9 years throughout the Houston and greater Houston area and has finally landed a spot here at Spring Creek Athletics.
Fun Fact: William has also played soccer his whole life even in college and loves chipotle!
Drew vossler has been tumbling and cheering for 7 years and now currently is attending Sam Houston State University where he is a competitive coed cheerleader and has one Collegiate Nationals. Before he found cheerleading he was a competitive gymnast for 6 years. He has coached gymnastics and tumbling for 6 years. His main goal is to inspire kids to love the sport of tumbling as much as he did and still does.
Nicole Shepard grew up in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area where she cheered from 3rd grade through her senior year of high school. After high school she coached tumbling for a gym in Fort Worth for 2 years. In 2011 she got married and moved to Kansas with her husband Chris who was in the Army. She attend school there and received her Associates of Arts Degree. Nicole moved to the Houston area in 2014 for her husband to go to school. She loves the Houston area besides all the traffic. She began cheering on the level 5 Inspire team here at SCA in July 2017. That's how she landed the coaching position. She is CPR/AED/First Aid certified. If she's not in the gym she can be found spending time with her husband Chris and their 2 daughters Kyndall age 4 and Kynlee age 2!
Brook Thompson has been cheering and tumbling at Spring Creek Athletics for 13 years now. She is currently attending Tomball High School and is going on her junior year. She is also currently on the varsity cheer team for her school as well. She has won several championship titles in her years of cheering. She currently works with cheer prep classes, Lil flippers classes, and special events. Her main goal as a coach is to help younger kids progress with their skills while spreading the love of cheer and tumbling that she has gained in her years of cheering for SCA.
Josie Spivey has been apart of the SCA family for 10 years cheering, tumbling and now coaching. She currently attends Magnolia West High School and hopes to attend Texas A&M University in the future. She has won several national championship titles with her teams at SCA. She has also worked with Stars, SCA's special needs cheer team, for 4 years. Her main goal is to share the love of cheerleading and tumbling that SCA coaches have shared with her for so many years.
Kristen Beller attended Rosehill Christian School where she cheered form sixth grade through her senior. During high school her cheer team attended FCC Nationals every year. Also during high school she coached tumbling and cheer classes for Spring Creek Athletics. After graduating high school she attended Texas A&M university. While at A&M she volunteered in Project Sunshine which is an organization for children with special needs in which they organize events. After college, Kristen worked as a caretaker for a boy with special needs for fiver years. She is also the proud mom of two girls, Kinley and Kyle.
Carlene came to our gym at the start of summer 2015 to help with our Pre-K summer camps. She has taught preschool 3&4s at Rosehill Christian School for the past 19 years. She attends preschool summer conferences annually to stay current on child development and learning activities. She also helps with many of the summer camps. She is CPR and First Aid certified. When she is not teaching and loving our kiddos, she enjoys running, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Bertha has been at SCA since it opened. She has been happily married for 29 years and is the mother of three children; Kristen, Kaitlyn and Kraig. Both of her daughters tumbled and cheered at SCA and eventually became coaches and are now married. Bertha has been involved with cheer through coaching at Rosehill Christian School and through her daughters who both cheered 6-12 grades. She has a huge heart for children of all ages. Bertha and her husband have worked in the youth ministry for over 11 years. Prior to SCA, Miss Bertha worked for a pediatrician for 23 years. She started working for Dr. Max Mintz when she was a junior in high school. She continued her education and training with the same doctor until he retired. Bertha says, "She could not think of a better place for God to bring her to than SCA. She loves being surrounded by youth in a happy and cheerful atmosphere where we can openly proclaim the word of God."
Shawna Living- has joined our Front Office Staff. Although she is not a new face around SCA, her daughter has cheered and tumbled here for years. Prior to working in the front office, she served on the Boosters Board, worked in the Snack Shack and is a Leader for our Fellowship of Christian Athletes! Miss Shawna also works as a Bilingual Educational Diagnostician for Tomball ISD.
Friday Night Out Director- Angie has a 10 year history of planning, organizing and working children’s events. In her spare time she leads a Girl Scout troop that she chaperoned on their trip to the Grand Canyon the summer of 2017. She also volunteers in numerous organizations for kids. Angie believes that life should be fun for children and makes it her mission to bring fun activities to kids at our Friday Night Out program.
